The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is an organization made up of designers and service providers related to the trade. The first national interior designers association was called theAmerican Institute of Decorators (AID), founded in 1931. It was later named theAmerican Institute of Interior Designers (AID). It is the oldest professional association for interior designers. In 1975 (AID) and theNational Society of Interior Designers (NSID)merged to become the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)[1].Its more than 40,000 members engage in a variety of professional programs and activities through a network of 48 chapters throughout the United Statesand Canada

Like other National professional organizations (National Association of Realtors, Domestic Estate Management Association, etc.), ASID provides education, technical support and networking opportunities for service providers.
